CrossPath Collegiate Ministries partners with Forest Hills Baptist Church to serve students at North Carolina State University and other colleges and universities in the Raleigh area.
Located less than a ten-minute walk from NC State's main campus, Forest Hills is close to where students live, study, and spend their daily lives—already near them, ready to welcome them, and committed to sharing life together.
Jeff Mathis serves as CrossPath's college minister, walking alongside young adults and connecting them to the life of the local church.
The Way of Christ is a path. No one should walk it alone.

The route leads to student housing located near State's West and Central Campus.

CrossPath connects students to a congregation that is already near them, ready to welcome them, and committed to sharing life together.
A ministry rooted in the church

As students enter adulthood apart from parents and families of origin, they often find themselves navigating new freedoms, new realities, and new questions. They need trusted mentors and guides who will walk alongside them as they discern God's presence and direction in their lives.
The Body of Christ is most faithful when people of all ages share life together.
CrossPath Collegiate Ministries is rooted in the local church because discipleship is learned best in an intergenerational setting while sharing life together.

CrossPath takes shape in the ordinary rhythms of shared life: meals around a table, scripture opened together, service offered with willing hands, laughter that comes easily, honest questions that are welcomed, and prayers that are shared together.
In these moments, students are not simply attending an event. They are discovering that they belong to a community where they can be known, grow in faith, and recognize Christ in one another.

CrossPath grows out of many years of walking alongside college students through friendship, faith, and shared life. By providing a college minister who serves as a pilgrim guide to young people, the Way of Christ can be learned and experienced within a caravan of faithful friends.

We had just finished our tacos when Kurt looked up and said, “You know, I don't think I buy any of this. But I will admit that I'm curious.”
I smiled. “Faith is learning God's story and discovering that you're a character in it.”
“So what do I do?”
“There's no formula, Kurt. But it's not something you do alone.”
Kurt didn't fill the silence.
“So let's make a simple commitment. We'll read one of the Gospels together. We'll take turns reading aloud. We'll take our time. Whenever one of us doesn't understand something, we'll stop and ask. Whenever one of us has a question, we'll explore it together.”
“What happens then?”
“When we reach the end, I'll simply ask whether you want to keep reading...to keep learning. Reading Scripture allows us to hear God's invitation. And invitations like that are rarely received alone.”
The path Kurt and I shared eventually led into the waters of baptism—and then onto a new path of faith, vocation, and discipleship.
That's the kind of journey we hope every college student discovers.
